I gave the first issue 4 fricken stars, I thoroughly enjoyed it and was excited to continue what I thought would be an offbeat, funny, fresh story with just the right amount of heart; this is not what this series has turned into. Each issue and become increasingly stupid, relying on lowbrow 'American Pie' type humor, no thanks. I don't care about any of the characters. The Sex Police were a complete let down, and how many jokes about vibrators and dildos can one person take? This story goes nowhere and relies on the same old recycled jokes. I think that some people like to read this simply for the taboo of it all, they get to drop the title into a conversation and appear edgy. Alright, that might be the anger talking, but I get so disappointed when I love the first issue and then it all goes to crap. If you enjoy giggling about genitalia... then this is the comic for you.

The Sex Criminals get busted by the sex police and Jon's past before Suzie is explored. Kegelfaces, bad poetry, a nekkid Chip Zdarsky, 7 pages of hilarious letters, and a perfect end to the first arc of a flawless comic. What else is there to say except, read this damn comic! It's a nice twist to have a crazy boyfriend instead of the old standby of crazy girlfriend. I know they come close to being equal, statistically speaking, but there's really a dearth of this kind of thing in comics. It's almost like Matt Fraction is actually a girl! Show us how it's done, Matt!

"GOING DOWN" This is the end of Volume One. Glad that's over. Still can't wrap my head around the fact that this was Time Magazine's Comic Of the Year 2014.

As bizarre as it is, it's kind of fun. And I want to see what happens next.

Well, this was a positive surprise. Last time I read a comic trying (intentionally or not) too hard with the title, I was greatly disappointed. Glad I didn't let the title of the comic stop me from looking into it. After Lady Mechanika, I felt like I want to read more of the new stuff; I needed some fresh stuff, I don't wanna read super hero comics right now. Anyway, the humor is strong in this one! Make sure you read every bit of the comic, and you're in for many lols! Boss of being a pervert! Well, n Well, this was a positive surprise. Well, no, sex in this comic is utilized in the way that it makes a very interesting story line; sex isn't there just because of sex, to get some attention, provoke the thoughts or whatever. In this one, sex serves a purpose. Sex. Sex, sex, sex. Seeex. Sex. <--- for those who played Borderlands 2, and for those who haven't. Both main characters are likeable, their personalities are being developed as we read on, and the girl is confident about her sexuality, speaking of it completely guilt-free, open minded. Sex is fun. At least the comic makes it look like it. Like it's..magical (truly, the art is beautiful during the..don'twannaspoil) Read this. You'll enjoy it greatly. Much recommend, much wow.

Two words: kegel face. If Matt Fraction's writing wasn't clever, original, and witty enough, Chip Zdarsky crams as much visual humor and wit into every corner of every panel of every page. Usually read each comic book in this arc at least two or three times to pick up on all the cues and subtleties, and then read it again for my own enjoyment. Sex Criminals is one of the most fucking absurd and original things I've read and I'd give it 4 stars on just the idea alone. The execution of it is impressive as it's never *too* obscene to where it feels pornographic and even the most bonkers of scenarios have context and go towards plot and character development. Had this plot been given to anyone else it would have been a disaster, but with Fraction and Zdarsky it's just... really good. Oh, and there's a great photo of Zdarsky's butt. I think it's lit really well - it doesn't objectify his butt, rather amplify the beauty of his male form. It's also fucking absurd. I can't stop laughing at it (the photo, not his butt).

Love the humour and the randomness. Especially the humour outside the comic. never before was it worth the effort to read the thanks and letter section this much. Also a rare book that is about sex, but also manages to tell a story which is getting quite interesting in this volume. Concluding: the artwork is original and gorgeous. Not a long review but I mean every word of it. ~Of to find info about next parts.

So, the end of the first five issues finds us with little plot development since issue #3. Don't get me wrong, I really like this series, but I'm feeling like it's kinda plateaued. The first two were great, #3 was really good, but the last two have been merely decent. Here's hoping that things pick up again as we find out more about the Sex Police. Oh, and Kegelface is really fucking scary! What must it be like for Jerry?

Oh my god THAT BITCH!!!!!!!!! I'm in love with the art style and although the last issue was disappointing to me, this issue was very good. It cleared out a lot of stuff that I was confused about in number 4 and pulled me in the story, finally

I am still slightly confused. What really happened in this one? The fake gun saved the day? Sent the sex police into The Quiet? Weird.

The artwork alone deserves framing. But the humour and the refreshingly frank look on sexuality? AND freezing time? What more do you want?
