This is the final story of Lex and Charlie, two souls that were brought back together in a twist of fate. With a glimmer of hope, they look directly into the light.

(hide spoiler)] Love Triangle (view spoiler)[ .No. (hide spoiler)] I really enjoyed the first book in the series but this was just awful. Not only were the random POV chapters we got of Nicki and Eric completely random and boring but the story just dragged on and on. I found myself having to skim a lot because I was sick of reading in Eric's POV (why the hell was that even necessary) and about his love life. I get that the author was trying to add humor but it felt like she was just trying to add filler chapters to drag on the story. I would have rated this higher if it weren't for what happened towards the end of the book. It was so unnecessary especially after everything Lex and Charlie had already been through throughout the years. I was so disgusted and pissed off at Lex and what happened with Montana that I didn't give a shit how the book ended after that. His excuse for his behavior was bullshit and made him look like a pathetic weak hero and a poor excuse for a man. I would have been able to forgive his asshole behavior but THAT..that one fucking scene? Hell no. You disgusting pathetic worthless piece of garbage. After everything he had put her through and after complaining about how he hadn't been strong enough for her the first time things went to shit 7 years ago he does THAT!? The mother of your child that you claim to love and yet you knowingly put yourself in a situation like that? I felt so disgusted by him that I was never able to forgive him for it. What about Charlie? Maybe she was having a hard time with what happened too. But No! Selfish pathetic WEAK Lex only cared about himself. He just looked like a pathetic loser to me and a poor excuse for a man. I needed major groveling after his behavior and was disappointed that we got none. He was so selfish and cruel I actually hoped that maybe (view spoiler)[ the author would surprise us and have her get back with Julian after the charity event (hide spoiler)] . I knew that wouldn't happen but after everything Lex put her through AGAIN I would have really enjoyed seeing him suffer. This book just didn't work for me and the manufactured drama was over the top. I mean C'mon the thing that happened at the penthouse in London? Wtf was the point of adding that. It wad just so ridiculous and over the top. Lastly, the two encounters with Victoria in the first half of the book rubbed me the wrong way. The person who was the reason behind why you're not with your wife and you actually almost went there? That he had to be stopped by Kate and Eric just fucking pissed me off. That is the ultimate betrayal. How could you even want to touch someone who betrayed you and hurt the woman you "love" ? Manufacture drama and a dickwad hero.

3.0 - 3.25 Bring me to the Light Stars I bought this book before even finishing my book 1 review. I needed some redemption for these characters desperately. I won’t spoil much here, as you really need to read the insanity of book 1 to appreciate the full circle that book 2 brings. I start with saying Lex is fabulous. I start with saying Lex is fabulous. He is all kinds of emotions tied up in the fact that he is in total love for a woman who in my opinion was not really worth it. But putting my bad ju-ju feelings aside, I finished this book in one sitting. Yes, I got some answers as to why Charlotte is the way she is. Yes I got a slight appreciation for her as she finally chose her heart and took what was rightfully hers. Yes, I found this book to be so much better than the first! But you know what they say, gotta have the bad to appreciate the good right? Happy Times: Again, Lex Edward is beautiful. He is a good man, and he is not immune to heartache. His reconnections with his family was emotional to read. His ability to put Charlotte first continued to amaze me and his constant need for her was scorching! Also, the real “I do’s” were perfect…well appreciated as was the progression of their family. Not-So-Good Times: I could have done without the multiple POV’s. Not that Eric is lol funny, but a bit over the top! I appreciated Nikki as a friend to Charlotte and a good ally to Lex. The rest were just meh’. I won’t say what but holy tear-jerking moment…why was that necessary? Lex and Charlotte had enough to deal with, so that was just one more unnecessary test that almost broke them…I mean trampy secretary and ex fiancée’ – really weren’t we past that? So while I admit I skimmed, again, I did like this book a lot more than the first. I mean I love a good HEA and hot love story. So in their own crazy little way Lex and Charlotte truly were soul mates…why else would there be that much pain and pleasure, that many tears, that much sweetness when the last bitter was experienced!

5 stars! I couldn't put it down. I absolutely loved Into the Darkness and I knew that the wait for the sequel would be worth it! I felt the good ache and I love when that happens! Lex is mine! Review of Into the Light by Kat T. Masen I was gifted this book for my honest opinion and review. To say this book is great is putting it lightly!  I wasn't sure how Kat was going to make this one even better than the first,  but by damn she has! It was true to life, on point with reality.  But staying with the romantic, love, loss, and family.  It truly tugs at your heart,  and I haven't been able to put it down since I started it this morning. 4.5 stars. The conclusions to Charlie and Lex's story wraps up in this book but not without some drama of course because this is them, 2 people who fell in love under less than ideal circumstances and are fighting their way back to each other while they push the other away and start to doubt if they can make the relationship last because of all the obstacles. There's also more about what happened in the past and I already suspected what Charlie didn't tell Lex from the get go and when she does, 4.5 stars. The conclusions to Charlie and Lex's story wraps up in this book but not without some drama of course because this is them, 2 people who fell in love under less than ideal circumstances and are fighting their way back to each other while they push the other away and start to doubt if they can make the relationship last because of all the obstacles. There's also more about what happened in the past and I already suspected what Charlie didn't tell Lex from the get go and when she does, it becomes apparent that Charlie nearly dug herself out of a grave during that dark time and is afraid of the same thing happening again, that she cannot survive another heartbreak from Lex. Charlie was always a strong person, Lex being her only source of weakness but she managed the last 7 years without him. Now, she is facing her old demons and moving forward and her character progression was impressive because as independent as she was to begin with, she also takes a real honest look at herself and what she wants and allows herself to take the risk that could cost her everything. During her emotional shutdowns, she closes the door on all of her friends and families so by the end of the book, it's obvious that she has found other ways to confront her problems rather than keeping people out and I admired that in her. Lex, too, is learning what it means to be in a committed relationship because although he's been married before, his everything in life begins and ends with Charlie and he's the sort of guy to fight for what he wants and to find solutions to problems. I love all of the secondary characters - Nikki, Rocky, Adriana, Elijah, Kate, Eric, Logan and Emma - these friends are so much more like family to both Charlie and Lex. The only thing that made me not love this book as much as the first (half a star difference) is what happened towards the end. Although everything was realistic and well-portrayed, I was mad at Lex because he made vows and I thought he was on his way to making sure he didn't screw up but with the unexpected tragedy (a problem he couldn't solve and needing to be supportive for someone else very important to him), he fell into a fear pattern that Charlie had already exhibited in the last book and I would have thought Lex learned from previous experience not to do that, so that bummed me out except for the fact that Charlie stepped it up even though he pushed her away. They may have been soul mates right from the very beginning, but their journey hasn't been necessarily smooth or easy and even the couples around them who didn't have as many hardships along the way still face their own personal barriers. I did appreciate the leaps and bounds they achieved together by the end, though.

This book is definitely actioned pack, and brings the reader on a most unexpected journey. I was able to predict a few things from book one, but even though I was right the story wasn’t boring and I still was on the edge of my seat. A lot of questions are finally answered as well, and once again we get to step back into the past a little bit and see how it all went down between Charlie and Lex. I love emotional books, I love stories that show just how strong love can be. This book definitely falls into these two characters, there were times when my heart was just completely broken and other times when I couldn’t stop smiling. I was addicted from the very first word to the very last one. Not So Much: The writing was definitely better in this book compared to the first one. Although I did notice some inconsistencies and the story was definitely lacking in details. When it came to things like Charlie’s apartment, or Lex’s place in London there was just no specific detail at all. I like it when the details are there because they just suck me more into the story, giving me a clearer picture of what is going on. Also there were times when I could tell that the author was not American, because a lot of the word usage, and sayings were not American. I could understand that when it was from Lex’s point of view, but when it’s from anyone else’s the colloquialisms should be American; it makes the story more genuine, giving it a stronger foundation.

After the stunning conclusion of Into the Darkness I had to know what happened next between Lex and Charlie. You have to read the first book to understand the ins and outs of what is happening in this one. Kat T. Masen held true to her dual POV, and even gave a few others throughout the telling of the book. I liked that because it showed how interconnected all of the characters were and just how much impact one of the groups decisions had on everyone. I liked that because it showed how interconnected all of the characters were and just how much impact one of the groups decisions had on everyone. And now that I was more aware of her writing style, I was able to follow everything a bit better. Into the Light picks up right where the first book left off. Lex and Charlie have a long road to get their happiness back. They both want it but aren't quite sure if it is worth all the pain. Thank goodness for Bulls, Kate and Eric to help guide them on the path back to one another. I liked that their journey was plagued with twists and trials at every turn. And Lex, seeing him with baby Amelia melted my heart. He was so gentle and caring with her but still his dominant self with Charlie. The ease in their relationship was what I enjoyed most. They were both able to move forward to the future they wanted together. The ease of their life was short lived however. Tragedy befalls the Edwards clan and everything spirals out of control. Not a single person went unaffected by what happened but Charlie and Lex's marriage takes a big hit. I was so torn over what was happening so I can't even begin to grasp how Charlie felt. So she did what she is good at, she tried to run from the situation. Luckily, Lex got the push he needed to set things right. His come to Jesus moment (literally) had me saying to myself- FINALLY! I will say that I wanted more of them working it out. There was so much that could've happened and been said that I wanted in on it. Into the Light , in my opinion, was better than the first book in the series. Yes the drama is high but I felt like I knew the characters better. I was rooting for them, even when I wanted to knock em upside the head. Kat T. Masen did a good job of wrapping up almost everything. There are still some unknowns, like what will become of Kate and Julian. I hope this won't be the last of see of this great cast of characters.

The story is full of comical moments; there is no way that you will get through this book without laughing hysterically and shedding a tear. Lex and Charlie’s connection is really strong in this book and if one thing is for sure they are an inspiration to every couple out there that no matter how tough life gets you will pull through long as you are willing to fight every force that is against you. This is a continuation in The Dark Angel Series. I have not read the first book but I was not lost when starting this one either. I think that Kat Masen did a great job with making this book to where you can just jump right in and get caught up with the characters. Then again towards the end I wanted to smack him again, but that is just me getting involved with the characters and all. I could tell that Charlie was hiding something from Lex but I was not sure exactly what. Charlie and Lex have a past and they are trying to get through some rough times on both of their accounts. I could tell that they both were trying to fight the urge to get back together. They also knew that not much was going to keep them away from each other either. I loved that this story was told in dual POV so that we could get both points of view! The supporting characters were hilarious. They had me rolling and laughing at loud with certiain things they discussed. These characters were more like an extended family for Charlie and Lex and I thought that they added a lot to the story. The way that Charlie was able to face her issues head on towards the end of the story showed how much that she had grown and had learn not to hide behind others. Lex also grew tons throughout the story because he had to learn how to be in a committed relationship again. Both Lex and Charlie grew and learned how to lean on each other until there was an unexpected turn of events that caused Lex to put someone else first instead of Charlie so that he could help this other person. This was a great read overall. I just didn't like how it ended but that is what makes it a great story for us to read. I don't always have to like how these stories end, but I totally enjoy reading them!! I am anxious to read the novella to see what is going to happen in it. Thanks Kat Masen for a great read!

Both Charlotte and Lex are stubborn and feisty characters who have a hard time just trusting each other and accepting each other's pasts. I wanted to shout and shake them but then if they weren't that way we would not have this story. Lex and Charlotte' s relationship is still dragged into a dark abyss, they battle and fight to keep a hold of their love for each other. Charlotte' s story is heart breaking, the secret that she kept hidden for seven years shows how truly broken she was when Lex left. We also hear Lex' s side of the story. Whilst there was still some repetition in the story between Lex and Charlotte I did not find this as annoying as the first book. What made this story for me was the friendships, it was good to hear some other voices in the story. Charlotte' s friends had me in stitches, their discussions on sex was something right out of sex and the city. I was shocked by a twist at the end of the book, and again I was heart broken by the turn of events, even more surprised that it did not directly involve the two main characters. This book was for me a complete roller coaster, I wasn't sure at first but I grew to love the characters and the story. I can't wait to delve straight into the short novella, letting Julian have his story.

Inappropriate comments at inappropriate times gave the book the humour it needed amongst the angst. And how I laughed at his antics!!! Eric was by far, my favourite character in the whole book! He was expertly written. The sad bit….I’m not saying what it was but omg it was really REALLY sad. Ms Masen did a great job to make the grief drip of the page. You could feel hearts breaking, you could taste the saltiness of the tears. That was the moment when I thought Kat T Masen is something special and one to follow. In the first book, there was a very clunky repetitive POV switch but I must say, the author has sorted that out and now the POV changes seamlessly and keeps the story moving forward. I also thought that the author didn’t pad the book out with unnecessary description so I was able to picture scenes in my mind with just a hint of direction from the author. I like it when you can imagine what something is like rather than being told every single detail of what you should be picturing. Congratulations on a great book Ms Masen, it’s a 5* from me.

Review for Into the Light (The Dark Angel Series #2) by Kat T. Masen Review done for Hooked on Books. 4 out of 5 stars Into the Light is the continuation of the Dark Angel Series. Charlie and Lex are together again. Book 2 starts of with a bang and all hell breaks lose. Throughout this story, Charlie and Lex are learning to trust each other again. With each step forward, they seemed to go two steps back. There are a lot of ups and downs in this story. I felt so sorry for Charlie a lot of the time. They would find complete bliss only to let their insecurities take over and screw things up. Both have grown a lot from their dark times but still needed some help from each other or their friends to get past the rough spots. I really enjoyed this story and was happy to follow Lex and Charlie’s journey. They were definitely soul mates. I enjoyed this book but sometimes it seemed like the story was all over the place. There were a couple different characters POVs in there as well. Overall, it was a great story.

I love the story between Charlie and Alex from the beginning. This tragic love story will have you on an emotional rollercoaster about their past, present, and future relationship. So, buckle up and enjoy the ride. I highly recommend this book if you are a reader that loves a story about second chance love then you will love this book. I hope that there is another book for this series. I would love to know how Charlie and Lex‘s relationship continues in the future. *This is a complimentary copy for an honest review

I loved this book, i feel it reflects real life more closely than a lot of other books. It picks up where Into the Darkness ends, with everything a mess. Charlie isn't handling things well, Lex is trying everything he can to make things right and i was right there with them willing them to sort things out. More emotional than the first book, we not only see the struggles Charlie and Lex find themselves with, but other friends and loved ones who have problems of their own. This story has it all, the highs, the lows and everything in between. It had me screaming at my kindle for Lex not to be an ass, and at Charlie to not be so stubborn and i admit it brought a tear to my eye, not to mention the absolute love i now have for Kate. Loved the whole journey with these two characters, the insecurities and problems, the way they deal with life changing events are all written brilliantly. Definitely need to hear more from some of the other characters, especially Adrianna and Kate's. This book really does have it all, brilliant realistic characters that will make you laugh (especially Eric), cry and fall in love with them.

I wish I could jump for joy and say I loved this as much as the first book. But it just wouldn't be true. Not only do we continue with the repeating chapters and back and forth on who's point of view we hear from, but we also add a chapter via Nikki and Eric in their point of views as well. For why? I haven't a clue. After the first half of the book, I would have gladly stopped and been pretty pleased with the outcome. Having finally found out more about what really happened before Charlie went off to college and how broken she was (which was an amazing part of the book by the way!). But I honestly didn't feel the last half of the book had any reason for being.

This is a really fantastic read. Picked up where book one ends I highly recommend you go and read Into The Darkness first. This is two fantastic books that you will love. Book one was fantastic. Twists and turns had me gripped. Then it ended in a cliffhanger and I seriously couldn't wait for this book. The author didn't disappoint me. I loved this book even more if that's possible. This is a really rollercoster of a ride. Charlie and Lex have so many ups and downs that I didn't know how to feel. This is a really fantastic read. Anytime I put my kindle down my mind was still on the story. Highly recommend these two books. I loved them.

so I was hooked on Darkness, and this one I was equally hooked. I read through it so fast I didn't want it to end. I saw both Charlotte and Alex grow so much I couldn't keep my eyes off my kindle! Just when I'd think I might have the ending figured out they over come the issue and grew some more as a couple. They both have a very different but colorful past and that's what I enjoyed is when something came up they acted as a real couple in my eyes and over came it instead like in the first book w so I was hooked on Darkness, and this one I was equally hooked. I have so many great things I want to say about Lex and Charlie! The love story between these two is epic. It's a story of true love and soulmates. Both made mistakes along the way and both hurt each other. But through it all they were still drawn to each other unable to give up on the other. I love how Kat has taken characters from each of her books and woven the lives together over her books. I admit I didn't realize that this was Charlie and Lex from Mr. Rebound right away!! Sad, I know, but once I got on the train wreck, I couldn't get off it. I really wanted to know what was going to happen. I didn't grow to like Charlie any better in this book. The supporting cast got on my nerves this go around- most especially Rocky and quite possibly Eric. Marshmallow that I am, I cried in certain spots. I wasn't really wanting some of the story to be like it was. *mutter* Overall, I wasn't completely impressed, but I was curious enough to actually finish this book.

The first half of this book I loved. Everything was how it should be and it made me wonder what on earth was going to happen for there to still be half a book left. I didn't like it. I didn't like what happened, I didn't like Lex, I didn't like Montana and I didn't like Adriana. The ending was back on track but for me it didn't give enough of how they got back to that point.
