Her husband has run off with the nanny, leaving Vera with a broken heart, three very angry sons, and even less time to juggle the demands of family and her career. After her boys scare away a sixth replacement nanny, Vera is out of time off from work and desperately out of options. Still nursing an aching heart, she turns to an unlikely source for help―a manny. Lincoln Scott is no stranger to family chaos. But rather than grow jaded, he has thrown his natural talents into building his own business―providing live-in childcare for families as a manny. The money is great and the perks are a blast, but when his family of six years moves to Germany and their plans to bring him along fall through, Lincoln is suddenly unemployed and aware of how much of himself he’s given to other people’s families. Brought together by circumstances, Lincoln and Vera’s mutually beneficial business arrangement becomes complicated by the undeniable chemistry they share. Vera needs a manny and Lincoln needs a job, but they both may have found the very thing neither one had realized they needed―a whole lot more. ***** Misadventures is a romantic series of spicy standalone novels, each written or co-written by some of the best names in romance. The stories are scandalous, refreshing, and, of course, incredibly sexy. They’re the perfect bedside read, a ‘quick blush’ for the reader who loves a page-turning romance.

3.5 It was okay Stars I’m not sure if this was better via audio or better reading it. I guess it depends on what you are looking for. I like the Misadventures series. I like that each book is written by a different author and each book has a core theme. However, these aren’t 5 star books, so far they haven’t been for me. However, these aren’t 5 star books, so far they haven’t been for me. I mean, they pass the time, the stories are cute, but it’s nothing that will blow your socks off. I like Toni Aleo’s writing, but I did find this one a little angsty which isn’t my cuppa, so this is for those who like that sort of thing. Narrators I have listened to Stella Blooms voice several times and I think she narrates well, she just isn’t for me, as in her voice is a bit too mature for my taste. Granted the Heroine is 31 so it fit her, but I like a more high-pitched girly voice. I’m picky like that. I loved Brian Pallino’s voice. It’s deep but not too deep and he fit the character very well. The Hero is 28 (three years younger than the Heroine) and to be honest he did sound younger. I like his voice transitions and acting. I would 100% stalk his audio page and look up more books he has done. The Story The book is almost 7 hours so it’s not a long book, but it’s hard for the characters to create a true bond within that time frame. In my opinion the book was insta-lust than anything else. I mean, there was a five minute monologue on how handsome / sexy / god like the Hero looked like to the Heroine. I was thinking to myself, “Yes we get it, he’s good looking, sheesh, move on with the story”. Oh and the Hero did the same thing. There was a five minute monologue on how curvy, sexy and fuckable the Heroine was to the Hero. It was kind of annoying. It took quite a bit of time for the two characters to have more than surface interaction. I thought the story build-up was a waste of time in the book for the book being so short. But we had to get into why the Hero needed a job, why the Heroine was getting a divorce and it was about 2 hours in until we got somewhere between the Hero and the Heroine. Oh and another pet peeve of mine is the secondary character conversations. You know, how the Heroine / Hero have to have a scene where they talk about their problems with their best friends and it takes up time in the book. Gah, this went on and on and on. Every time something happened, the Hero or Heroine had to “talk” to their best friends about what they should do and how they should think. It annoyed me. Even with all of that, that didn’t annoy me as much as the villain. the main Angst of the book was the villain (or the problem that is creating friction between the Hero / heroine I didn’t like Vera’s ex-husband. I found his character a little too much and the fighting between her and him kind of over shadow the main couple. I was getting frustrated and annoyed with it. I get that is probably how real life co-parents fight, but it didn’t need to waste the audio space the book is already limited. Overall Even though this review is a rant, I did like it, I just thought there were more annoying bits than the usual for me to handle. I think the Hero’s narrator kind of saved the book for me though. So this might be for those who like a little more angst and lots of steam.

absolutely fantastic ... from start to finish. I fell in love with both Vera and Linc the minute they hit the page. Their story put a smile on my face and warmed my heart. And don't get me started on the boys! I don't have any details to give to back that statement up. I keep rolling thru the story in my mind to see what I can and cannot mention and I just don't want to say a single thing about the plot LOL I want you to be just as happy as I was every time I turned the page. Oh my god. OH MY GOD!! This book, this book was just everything I feel so emotional right now after finishing this beauty, sappy, ugly, happy tears just wow. ARC received in exchange for an honest review I just want to start by saying Toni Aleo did an absolute flawless job on Misadventures with a Manny. It just blew me away and I’m completely in awe. Lincoln and Vera are everything. I loved their story and would absolutely want more from them! Their kids, their lives everything was so on point. Although there was heartbreak and sadness I wouldn’t change a thing about it as it led them both to where they are now and I’m so happy with that. In a way these characters are similar yet so different which makes them work so perfectly. Vera being made to feel the way she did because of her ex is just awful, he’s complete and utter trash and needs to get punched by a baseball bat in the balls repeatedly so he can’t procreate anymore, that fucker. Lincoln, that man is what every woman deserves. He’s kind, caring and absolutely adores Vera. He treats her with respect, he shows her she’s worth more than what her ex says and the amount of love her had for the kids amazes me. He’s an incredible human as is Vera. She’s so strong and beautiful and god, I love that woman so hard, absolutely amazing! I can’t say this enough but Misadventures with a Manny is an absolutely incredible read, one of my absolute favourite books of this series. It’s everything I hoped it would be and more.

And Lincoln really is a kid whisperer. I love that Vera isn't some weak woman. She is strong, she is dedicated to her family, she doesn't take her exes sh!t (and believe me, right from the start there is plenty of cow poo delivered!). She is fighter. This book just had me smiling the whole time I was reading it (well, except when I wanted to slap her ex with my kindle). I haven't read many of the Misadventures books, and I know I should go back and read more of them in the future. I can't wait to see what Ms Aleo brings us next.

Absolutely one of my favorite books in the Misadventures series! I have to admit that I opened this one with a bit or curiosity. The idea of turning a manny into a sexy romance hero seemed like a daunting task to me--but I should have known it was Toni freakin' Aleo that we're talking about here, and the woman didn't just handle the task with grace, style, and sexiness...folks, she hit the damn ball right out of the park. My heart was aching and laughing and swooning and sighing, rooting for Linc and Vera as they fought their way past the misgivings and insecurities that would befall any normal couple having to redefine life around jobs and kids and "real life." The relatability of this story is the core of its beautiful charm, sigh-worthy feels, and eventually, and an HEA so satisfying, I closed the book with a reluctant sigh. I seriously didn't want it to end! Such a wonderful and well-told story. All the stars!!!

My first by Ms.Aleo, I might check her other work far away in the future. I like the plot, a male working in the industry that is usually dominates by female. However, the insta sexual attractions by both parties from the moment they meet is just too much for me. Predictable story, the kids are just okay-don't have a favorite, the ex husband - a major ###hole. This book is unavailable on KU / Scribd. Kindle price is USD2.99

Let's start with the kids, Charlie, Elliot and Louis, because they were the glue that held this story together. They were adorable and their struggles being in the middle of the divorce was heartbreaking. Vera, our leading lady, was a complicated woman. In her job and with those around her she is strong, take charge and get sh*t done type of woman. Yet when it came to her marriage with her scum bag ex-husband she let him walk all over her and cheat on her time and time again. I get that she wanted to stay with him for the children but for me that crap would have ended long before he got the nanny knocked up. Vera was curvy and beautiful even though she couldn't see thank to her ex always verbally beating her down. This causes her to doubt that a man like Lincoln could ever be attracted to her. Lincoln with his six-pack abs, trimmed beard, heart of gold, love of children and cooking abilities is every womans ideal man, at least it's mine hehe When the family he has been mannying for moves overseas he is in need of a new job. At the same time Vera has been through 7 nannies for her boys and is desperate enough to hire a manny even though she would rather have a female taking care of the kids. When the two meet it is complete insta lust, and they both wonder how they are going to work around each other and keep their hands to themselves. As Lincoln and Vera spends time together they quickly develop feelings that are more than physical, but Vera is afraid that she's not enough and Lincoln is afraid that she's won't be able to give him forever. Misadventures with the Manny is a slow burn that's totally worth the wait. They don't give in until half-way through the book and when they do its intense. Lincoln and Vera have amazing sexual chemistry whether in the bedroom or in the kitchen 🔥 This was a fantastic steamy installment to the Misadventures series! "I want to slide my hands up the back of her thighs, grab that ass of hers, and whisper how fucking beautiful I think she is." "But I have this need to be needed— to be wanted— and I just wanted you to say it." 5/5🌟

From beginning to end - I LOVED this book. Almost immediately, this book gave me One Last Time (Corinne Michaels) vibes and since that still remains one of my favorite books of the year, I was all in! I loved Vera and her dedication to her children, I hated her rat bastard of an ex, and Lincoln was so unbelievably swoon worthy. The chemistry between Vera and Lincoln was incredible and her history with her ex made her such a sympathetic character - it made it really easy to cheer her on. The obstacles to HEA were real and I enjoyed the tension that they provided (though I did feel like they came to a head and were resolved rather swiftly). I also wasn't expecting Misadventures with a Manny to be the slow burn that it was, but when we finally get to the couples first hookup, it was so worth the wait! I've thoroughly enjoyed both of Toni Aleo's contributions to the Misadventures series so far and I fully plan to read her Assassins series soon! 5 out of 5 wine glasses.

Misadventures with a Manny is a fantastic read. It's emotional and funny and so well written. I loved Lincoln and Vera. He's completely swoon worthy and she was so strong and honestly just a character I can really connect with. I think that's a huge sign of what a truly gifted writer Toni Aleo is. I haven't experienced what leading lady Vera had personally but the insecurities and doubts about parenting, the worries about whether you're enough? I can relate to those kind of thoughts very well. Toni totally hit it out of the park with Misadventures with a Manny! I read it all in one-sitting and was just so sad when this beautiful story was over.  I've been in a reading slump for a while and this definitely helped me get out of it. I felt absolutely horrible for what Vera had to go through with her trash of an ex-husband, she didn't deserve any of that at all. And it was just so heartbreaking to see her go through that and keep a strong face for her kids. However, I'm all about signs and things happening for a reason. And one of the next best things to happen in her life was Lincoln entering it. You will not love a hero more than with Lincoln, swooping into Vera's life at just the right time. Helping out with her kids and just being a male figure in their lives. I was curious to see how long it would take for things to unfold between them because they fought it for a lot longer than I anticpated them to. The attraction was instant from when they first set eyes on each other. But I totally understand they didn't want to cross that line because employee/employer. As Lincoln fights his feelings for his boss, we get to see his vulnerable side. He opens up about what he wants with his future, marriage and kids. He wants all of that, so there's something holding him back from pursuing Vera because would she even want that, when she already had it? Ahhh, Lincoln is just pure perfection! He's amazing with the kids and doesn't hold back when he needs to be stern with them. And I love how he constantly tells Vera that she's worth so much and more. I hated every scene with Vera's ex, he was just downright horrible to her and it made one to seek some violent tendencies towards him. And I thought Vera did a great job trying to be as civil as possible to him even when she was the one that hurt the most from his mistakes. She's an unbelievably strong woman and such an amazing mother! I loved her character so much and there were so many times when I wanted to reach into the pages and hug her! Everything about this book was beautiful and I just loved it so much, everyone needs to read this!

Misadventures with a Manny is a rather tame book for the misadventure series. It wasn't bad per see, but it wasn't so adventurous as the others. Still, I liked it and I had no problem reading it. 4.5 Stars! I absolutely loved Linc! I would take him as a manny any day! The only thing that could have made my ovaries swoon some more would have been if Vera had an infant/toddler age child for him to interact with. I so enjoyed Linc & Vera! It was refreshing to have a kind of twist on the boss/employee trope, and also that they didn't fall into some "expected" categories. I was a little annoyed by the conflicting advice their (married) BFF's were giving them, because I felt like they should be on the same page, and also I didn't think they had the appropriate amount of respect for Vera & Lincoln. This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers. To view it, click here. 2.5 stars. This book was ridiculous. From the moment hero and heroine met each other they fell in lust. She was just pathetic. and the last time was when she found him in her bed with their nanny. Hero tried to bashed the ex husband and he also said something about the nanny. What kind of man would do this? Comparing both women? Sure I know why the author did this. She did it because she wanted to show that he was in lust with the heroine, how he found her more pretty, with curves. How a 10 she was. I hate men like this. He even managed to sound like a woman talking shit about a man and woman that he hadn’t officially met yet. One thing I will say though, I’ve never read a hero say the word “ugh” it sounded ridiculous and stupid. The heroine was ok on not bashing her ex in front of her kids. Even though he did it she decided to never talk bad about her ex and his new wife. She was a good mother, and that was the only thing I liked about her. She hasn’t had sex for 6 years, Hero has been celibate for a long time. Turns out her ex husband was also cheating on the nanny/wife who was also pregnant. She left him. She didn’t wait for him to cheat 7 times on her like the heroine did. The book is safe. She made a date with a coworker but she canceled it. There’s no OW drama but plenty of ex husband drama.

Yes! I have read a few books from this amazing author but she keeps on blowing me away with her storytelling. I have been waiting for this book ever since I seen the cover and it is well worth the wait. This is book fourteen in this epic series Misadventure. You can read this book as a stand alone. You don’t have to read them in order. These two characters drew me in right from the beginning. You can’t help but to fall in love with them. I could not put this book down. You don’t have to read them in order. These two characters drew me in right from the beginning. You can’t help but to fall in love with them. I could not put this book down. It only took me a few hours to devour this incredible story. Vera Woods is going through a nasty divorce. She loves her job and she knows that she works a lot but she has kids to feed. Now she has to watch her step due to her horrible ex husband. Vera is about to give up but her sister saves her. She is then introduced to a handsome man that watches kids. Lincoln is a Manny. Vera feels chemistry right away for Lincoln. She knows that this should be strictly business but could it also be for pleasure? I absolutely loved this book. The storyline has it all romance, heat, humor, and healing. You will fall in love with these characters right from the start. Vera is a beautiful strong mother that wants the best for her boys. She wants to find the love that she should have had. Lincoln is a very handsome and good guy. He cares for everyone he is close to. These characters have some steamy scenes that will make your toes curl. This is the perfect edition to this series. I can’t wait to see what this author will write next.

It introduces readers to a near-perfect hero and a heroine and family with problems of their own that kept me fully invested in their ups and downs. By the turn of the final page I was left cheering and ready to find my own manny to make my life complete! Lincoln Scott’s the lone son in a family with six sisters and it’s helped him embrace his softer side, embrace his role in caring for kids as a manny. After his most recent placement ends, much to the breaking of his heart, he agrees to come work for the recently divorced sister-in-law of his best friend which changes his life irrevocably. The moment he meets Vera it’s clear they have a crackling connection, but it’s a connection that he battles with as she’s his boss. The closer he gets to her, the more important he becomes to her three boys, the more entwined Vera and Lincoln’s hearts become too. Through their sweet and sensual journey to HEA Lincoln’s shown himself to be loyal and loving. He’s supportive to not only the boy’s tender hearts but also as Vera continues to battle with her truly malicious ex-husband, Simon. Lincoln encourages her to be strong while showing his protective side and it is a delicious combination. Lincoln’s words and deeds pulled at my heartstrings as he voiced from the very start his love and attraction to Vera. His devotion never faltered and when everything came to a head he proved his devotion in a very bold act that endeared him to me. He wore his heart on his sleeve and is yet another addition to my list of book boyfriends as everything he said and did kept me wrapped up in a sensual blanket. Vera Woods was a wild child growing up, but her teen pregnancy had her marrying young and took her life in a very different direction. The death of her parents also left her vulnerable to one man’s manipulations with his constant belittling and infidelities leaving her with low self-esteem. Though she fell out of love with Simon long ago she’s still left reeling by their divorce and is desperate to do all she can to help her boys get through this rocky time where their loyalties feel divided. After terrorizing other nannies, her sister Riana introduces her to someone who seems to be the answer to her prayers. The moment Vera meets Lincoln she knows he’ll be perfect for her sons but is immediately worried about the sensual feelings he engenders in her. As they fight their attraction fate (and Riana) conspires to bring them closer together in scorching encounters both in and out of the bedroom. It’s not long before decisions about the future rise to the surface, forcing them to admit their feelings, just as family interventions complicate things even more. Through it all Vera’s a likable heroine. She’s devoted to her sons to the exclusion of her own needs, desperate to take the high road every time her ex does and says something hurtful. She’s been lonely though, believing all the negativity and sleights her ex hurls at her. She has low self-esteem when we first meet her and it’s a slow journey to empowerment courtesy of Lincoln’s supportive words and deeds. Being with him brings out her long-dormant sex-kitten side which made for numerous scorching encounters that burned up my tablet. On a whole this was a delightful read with a well-matched main couple. Their attraction was immediate and it led to a sweet and sexy journey full of heartfelt talk and erotically-charged encounters. They both were clear in their desire for each other which is why the intervention from their family was so frustrating. Their intervention fueled her fears and put their HEA in jeopardy. It was only because of the delicious hero, and his talent for being loyal and talking things out, that gave this book such a heartwarming conclusion that was the highlight of my week. Readers looking for a sexy yet heartwarming read will find all that and more in the pages of this delightful romance with a cast of immensely appealing characters and a charming narrative.

It kept my attention from beginning to end. I was so ready for Vera to get her some Lincoln. Her husband was a scum bag and wanted to see her fail but a gotten fool. I was also glad that Kiara or whatever her name was gotten rid of him too. He even cheated on her, once a cheater.. he cheated on her seven times. This reminds me of my mom dust bunny ex-boyfriend who cheated on her 6 to 7 times and she kept taking him back unlike My mom Vera was married to the scum bag, Simon. I was glad that her sister hired Lincoln if it wasn’t for him the kids especially Charlie would still misbehave because of what their dad had done. Not only that Vera would’ve still been sad about what he did to his family. Simon was straight trash ... I wish she could’ve gotten full custody of the kids. But I glad In the end she got well admitted she wanted Lincoln because she was making me mad when she acted like she didn’t want him. When she did. She gave Lincoln a family; as well as Lincoln has her family. Both well more so she gave Lincoln a kid, I know he would be an amazing father as well as her as a mom. Though what cracks me up is that EVERYONE assumes he might be gay just because he didn’t have any GIRLFRIEND and he was a manny with an EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION degree. It’s crazy how as a male people think otherwise.

Wow oh wow! I haven’t read an Aleo book since the Assassins series! I LOVED that series so much. Nope, this was totally different in this book we have Vera, recently divorced mother of three who is at her wits end. The boys are relentless and have pranked and gone through nine nannies. Enter Lincoln; all around good guy who just so happens to be a manny and Vera’s brother in law’s best friend! Lucky for Vera he is recently unemployed and is ready to help her out. What they didn’t figure, was the insta-attraction they both felt at first glace. The connection was instant. As fate would have it, they belonged together, but not before facing a couple setbacks. All in all, this was a good book, but I felt like it was missing some heart. Like I get their attraction(lust) to one another, but I felt like it could have been explored more with emotions and feelings. It was lacking that undeniable, wholehearted connection. So, if you have a free afternoon and want to get some funny lighthearted reading in, this is the book you need. The kids were funny, Lincoln was just too perfect, and Vera was so relatable.

When Lincoln and Vera see each other, there are sparks but both want to deny it. Because she needs a Manny and he needs a job. How long can they deny their feelings for each other? Will her boys have a problem with them dating? When will her ex have to say about it? I loved the way Vera was with her boys but hated how her ex treated her when he was the one that caused the problems. This story will have you laughing and crying and you will not want it to end. This is the third, I think, in the Misadventures series that I have read and I have loved them all. So sit back and enjoy Vera, Lincoln and the boys story, you will not be disappointed.

They had a difficult time with their roles and responsibilities in the beginning, but the trust and respect was there from the get go, and those two attributes are undoubtedly essential to see these two to the place where they need to be. I highly recommend that you grab a copy and enjoy a really fun read.

Loved Misadventures of a Manny! I’ve been a fan of Toni Aleo since reading the first book I of her Assassin series. After a messy divorce, and still dealing with a jerk of an ex, struggling to raise three boys who have been through several different nannies and just needs a helping hand. Lincoln, who is Vera’s Brother-in-laws best friend, is out of work and just maybe the right person for the job. The chemistry between these two was amazing. As you know, no love story is without some bumps. Loved Loved Misadventures of a Manny! I’ve been a fan of Toni Aleo since reading the first book I of her Assassin series. I will admit... I was not sure about this Misadventures initially, BUT boy was I wrong. Vera is a strong heroine and is the definition of a dedicated Mom who only wants the best for her children. She has always put them first and wants what is best for them. Her only downfall is her long work hours.. She has a JERK of an EX that does everything he can to make her life miserable. Can Vera find her happily ever after? Would someone like Lincoln want someone like her? Lincoln oh Lincoln.. Can I have I will admit...
