Christopher Hastings lists off the predictable Bond references: Q, M, henchmen, villain who wants to take over the world or something, villain’s lair, Moneypenny, gadgets, women, lotsa action, and martinis. There’s even a fight in the snow a la the opening scene of The Spy Who Loved Me. The story is pointless, none of the jokes are funny and the whole thing is predictably dull pap. I’d hoped that Hastings was going to produce something more compelling and creative after his excellent run on Gwenpool but unfortunately, like most Deadpool comics these days, Secret Agent Deadpool isn’t the least bit interesting.

↠4.5 Do the stories make any sense? Noup. But do I care if they don’t? Hell no. I enjoyed this one so much more than Deadpool by Posehn and Dugan Vol.2 and all that thanks to the amazing translation done by Draško Roganović—I think this is the only translator whose name I know, that’s how much I’m impressed. Simply loved the Serbian pop culture appearing on the pages.

5/5 Stars I may have bought this for my fiance and then decided to read it. Having never read a Deadpool comic before, I was very happy. The artwork is beautiful and Deadpool is just a massively awesome character.

Solid Deadpool. I also loved all of the horses faces. 😂

Pretty bad, pretty dumb, lots of 4th wall breaching, lots of James Bond ragging, low brow comedy, but hey... it’s Deadpool, so I didn’t expect much!

I always love Deadpool comics, but I thought the jokes in this one we're particularly on point. I laughed a lot.

Deadpool impersonating a secret agent he was hired to assassinate--that's the basic plot, and it delivers everything you would pretty much expect from that set-up. This wasn't the funniest Deadpool story I've ever read; there weren't really any laugh-out-loud moments, but I certainly did chuckle a few times. The truly amusing thing about this graphic novel wasn't so much Deadpool's one-liners (there was only a handful of fourth-wall breaks *sad face*), but the sheer ridiculousness of the plot. The secret agency was a part of the USDA?! The villains were trying to steal God's pencil to rewrite reality?! To paraphrase what Deadpool said towards the end, this was a James Bond story with an Indiana Jones ending--and, as a parody of those franchises turned up to 11, this was a pretty enjoyable (if not far-fetched, even for Deadpool) read. I wouldn't say I'd recommend it, as there are better Deadpool stories, but there are definitely worse ones too. Deadpool is a difficult character really "nail." Still, if you're looking for a short, fast-paced, and still fun (and funny) read, then this is definitely worth a look.

A really fun ride of a book! Deadpool, while on a mission to kill a man who goes by Jace Burns, gets more than he bargained for when it is discovered that he is trying to take down a Secret Agent! Love that Wade has tons of these Volume-contained stories. Recommend. A quick, fun read.

This is the version of Deadpool that I enjoy most, from a character perspective. Not pure references, not too juvenile, and with the right amount of pathos and insecurity that enhances his relationships and humor. The anti-hero loner with strong morals makes the story amazing against the issues that can bring down the spy genre.

I was expecting the silly shooting and crude Deadpool. And then I remembered as I cracked it open that Hasting as the Gwenpool author likely could give us something really smart. In the end, this is a great spoof on James Bond and the spy genre. And we get to see Deadpool in a very different light, which is interesting to see as he navigates a world where he is a good fit.

I always enjoy Chris Hastings writing, especially when he's in a bonkers world that makes no apologies for its bonkersness. The story gets a bit in the weeds, but it does so in the same way that James Bond movies do so it completely fits the setting.

Deadpool in a James Bond parody. The parody works, surprisingly, and there's a cute miniature horse.

Entretenido y desenfadado pero poco original y falto de chispa. El género está sobre explotado.

The first two issues were awesome then #3 came to a screeching halt. The next three issues had the classic secret agent ups and downs. Not a bad read but far from great.

Overall this feels very much like a hastily thrown together online exclusive thrust upon the creative team. It's dumb, sloppy, and not anything really worth getting too angry or excited over.
